Night photography on Mull including lunar rainbow

A couple of breaks in the savage weather enabled me to do some night shifts with the stars around the isle. The highlight was seeing the rare sight of a lunar rainbow which is also called a moonbow or a space rainbow. You need a strong moon crescent and large droplets of mist in the rain clouds for it to be visible with the naked eye and it was a fantastic sight!

A fantastic atmosphere around Mull at night when most people are nestled away, I feel like I have the isle to myself. A Barn Owl seen south of Tobermory on route to Lochdon and also good numbers of Tawnys calling. A single Mountain Hare at Ardmore and large numbers of Red Deer roadside on lowland areas all through my travels.
